Deep Thoughts, by Sam Iverson

I know I post a lot about the things my kids say, but really this is like a journal for me and I plan to print this blog into a book sometime. So here is the funny conversations for the day.

It all started with a trip to Little Caesars to get pizza for our primary activity today. While we were in the car Sam started singing the BYU fight song. He was singing "rise and shout...and instead of saying Cougars, he said Jesus...then he had to continue with ra...ra...ra,ra,ra..goooo and he didn't say Cougars, he said Jesus again. This is the first Christmas where Sam has mostly forgotten about Santa and is remembering that Christmas is about Jesus. I explained to Sam that Jesus knows that he loves Him, but we really need to sing reverent songs to show Jesus that we love Him....and the BYU fight song doesn't count as reverent. Actually, the BYU fight song is against our religion!!!
On our way home, the subject of Lizzie came up. One thing Sam always asks is when Lizzie will be resurrected. So he asked again. I told him that one day we will all be resurrected and that will be when Jesus comes again. Sam asked if I thought that would happen by Christmas. I told him that Lizzie would be spending Christmas with Jesus again this year. This was Sam's reaction: "That's unfair. I would rather be with Jesus on His birthday than get presents...even a Wii!"

Kids say the funniest things. I'm happy Sam is thinking about Jesus this year. He is such a good kid.

What a sweet conversation. I loved reading about it. Sam is one of the most thoughful kids I've ever met. I love him so much. I wish more kids would remember Jesus at this time! What a smartie!
